wHY ARE GRANTS AVAILAblE FOR heating upgrades ?
The Government Heating Grants Scheme is part of the Energy Companies Obligation (ECO) and helps people on low income benefits to upgrade their old heating & insulation for FREE.
As electricity is a very expensive form of heating, money has been earmarked especially to assist people to replace their old and inefficient economy 7 heaters for 100% free.

Does the grant have to be paid back in the future?
No.
If you are deemed eligible, any measures fitted under this scheme will not need to be paid back at any point in the in the future.

how many heaters can be exchanged under this scheme?
The number of heaters exchanged under this scheme will depend on the grant awarded to your property.
As the new heaters are so much more efficient, you will not need as many heaters.
As a general rule, most properties receive 2 -4 high heat retention heaters that retail for £599 each.
Some plug in panel heaters may be included too.
The Government set out strict guidelines for each property entitlement and installers on the scheme have to adhere to this or funding will not be released.
We ask all applicants to respect this and not try to take advantage of what is a very generous scheme.
